Premiere: The Cosmic Dead ‘Furthur’ – New Album ‘Beyond The Beyond’ Drops 17th April
Today at The Shaman, we’re beyond chuffed to be premiering Furthur, a heavy, head-warping dive into The Cosmic Dead’s expansive psych and space rock universe. The sixteen-minute track unfolds with a slow, hypnotic pull, dragging the listener into a slow-burn vortex of molten groove, lysergic textures and locked-in momentum.
Furthur is a powerful glimpse of what’s coming on Beyond The Beyond, the band’s upcoming release landing on the 17th April via Heavy Psych Sounds. Dense, exploratory and unashamedly trance-inducing, it captures The Cosmic Deadat their most focused – music made to be played loud, uninterrupted, and allowed to stretch out into its own kaleidoscopic orbit.

The Cosmic Dead are an amorphous blob of space rock energy hailing from Glasgow, Scotland. Their exploratory compositions often reach levels of sonic destruction through reflective repetition and visceral harmony. They’ve taken many forms since forming in 2010 and has been declared ‘The loudest psychedelic rock band on the planet’ by legendary compere Kozmik Ken.
Beyond The Beyond is their highly anticipated tenth studio album from the inter-dimensional space travelling explorers, which takes listeners on a four-track expedition into the deepest cosmos of the band. Recorded at Dystopia Recording Studio in Glasgow, Beyond The Beyond features the riff rolling rhythm section of Tommy Duffin on drums and Omar Aborida on bass guitar alongside soaring fiddle acrobatics from Calum Calderwood and electronic textural bleeps and bloops from Luigi Pasquini on synthesisers, all wah laden and with phasers set to destroy – Turn on, tune in and immerse yourself in the sound of The Cosmic Dead.
